School Meals

We believe that the school lunchtime is a wonderful opportunity for all our children to sit down together and enjoy their healthy and tasty meal, whilst developing their social skills. School lunches are provided and cooked on the premises by our catering team who serve a menu that is freshly prepared daily using local and regional produce.  Specific dietary requirements, whether for medical or religious reasons, are noted. A vegetarian choice is also always available. Children may bring a packed lunch into school if preferred. If so, please ensure that it fulfills the school's expectations of a healthy meal and that your child’s name is clearly written on their lunch box. Children may change between packed lunches and hot meals. However, written notice of one week is required, from the nearest Monday, for any changes that are to be made. Please email these requests to admin@stvincents.trafford.sch.uk

UIFSM - Universal Infant Free School Meals

All primary school pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 receive an Universal Infant Free School Meal (UIFSM). This is a nationwide initiative and is irrespective of Free School Meals (FSM) eligibility. The school encourages all families to check eligibility for FSM using the confidential link below as the school may receive additional funding for all eligible pupils throughout their primary phase.

PUPIL PREMIUM AND FREE SCHOOL MEALS

If your child is eligible for ‘free school meals’ and you register them for this, the school will receive extra funding called ‘pupil premium’. We use this extra money to improve the educational provision and resources at the school.

Please click here to find out if you are eligible: https://apply.cloudforedu.org.uk/ofsm/sims-trafford

Whilst the introduction of Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM) represents a great social and health benefits, its introduction may compromise the school’s access to Pupil Premium funding. Therefore, it is essential that parents who are entitled to Free School Meals register for them even if they would rather provide a packed lunch for their child.

TOP-UP PER WEEK

From September 2024 the cost of a school meal will be £2.70 per day, meaning a week's worth of meals will be £13.50. Please ensure your account is topped up every Monday prior to your child taking the weekly meals.

Top-up payments can also be made for a full half term on the first day before your child takes the meals for that half term. The breakdown below will guide you on the amount you are required to top-up and when to top-up. Topping up for the whole academic year is also possible.
