Pupil Voice
We consider pupil voice to be very important in school. We want our children to have their voice heard so that they can help to make a tangible difference to school life. Pupil voice is part of the personal development provision and character education we provide for the children. Pupils also develop their leadership skills as they lead various school initiatives. We often work with pupils on school matters and value their ideas and opinions.
We offer the children a variety of pupil groups to join. The groups are listed below:
- School Council
- Junior Leadership Team
- Year 6 Prefects
- Mini Vinnies
- ECO Warriors
- Digital Leaders
- Playground buddies
- Wellbeing Ambassadors
- Prayer leaders
- Sports Leaders
The groups provide one way of working with the pupils to develop aspects of school. They also provide excellent opportunities for pupils to lead school initiatives.

Spotlight On Our Wellbeing Champions:
At St Vincent’s we are committed to looking after the emotional health and wellbeing of our whole school community and our Friendship Buddies and Wellbeing Champions play a special role in this. Our children are taught that mental health needs to be looked after in the same way as physical health and we are committed to ensuring that all of us know how to do this. The Wellbeing Champions are representatives from every class throughout the school; they meet regularly and plan effective ways in which we can look after our mental health. During the Autumn term, they planned creative activities for Friendship and Anti-Bullying week including: friendship bingo, kindness bracelets, one kind deed or word, friendship books at the outdoor reading areas and a friendship trail. Our Wellbeing Champions have also created ‘Thoughtful Thursday’ which takes place on the last Thursday of every month. This is a drop-in session over lunchtime and gives children the chance to experience mindfulness meditation, mindful colouring, yoga and even peer hand massage.
