Year 5 end of Autumn term news

We have had a busy but fun half term in year 5 and have taken part in some memorable experiences. We have enjoyed learning about space in Science and all made fantastic space projects at home to share with our classes. A group of children were invited to Alderley Edge School to meet the first British astronaut , Helen Sharman which was extremely inspirational. As part of our new topic ‘materials’ in Science, We did an investigation about the absorbency of nappies with Mrs Shaw.

In PE  we have been learning a group display to perform for our year 2 buddy classes in the new year. This week Mrs Farrell’s class performed a poem at the Advent service at church and have been feeling festive making Christmas stockings in D & T. 

As we sold the most raffles tickets for the Christmas fair, we also took part in a slime workshop with Mrs Shaw.
