Mrs Luckham's Class 2020 - 2021

The children have all settled well into their new Year 5 class and have been working really hard!

It has been great to see so many children bringing in Trafford Libraries Reading Certificates from over the summer holidays. In Year 5 we encourage the children to take part in our 100 book Challenge, the books have been chosen to appeal to Year 5/6 children’s interest and challenge level.

In History we have started learning about the Anglo-Saxons and will be looking at The Vikings and their impact on Britain.

In Science, we will be learning all about our solar system and phases of the moon. Last week we used Van Gogh’s Starry Night picture as inspiration for our own artwork.

Our first R.E. topic is Creation, we will be learning about God’s great creation and how we can become Stewards of God’s Creation.

Through our Jigsaw PSHE scheme, we are continuing to learn and develop our understanding of relationships. Mrs Harrop spoke to Year 5 today about the role of a head teacher and the school mission statement.
